Esther M. Remmers, 94, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at David Place in David City.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 10:00am in Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, Rising City with Rev. David Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Faith East Cemetery, rural Rising City.
Viewing will be Monday, 4-7pm at Chermok Funeral Home in David City, and on Tuesday, 9-10am at the church.
Memorials may be given in care of the family.
Esther M. Remmers was born on Feb.9, 1915 to Bernard and Martha(Fricke)Daro on the farm near Ulysses, Nebraska. She grew up in the area and attended School District 16. She later went on to earn her GED.
She married George Remmers on December 6, 1937 in Fremont. Eight children were born to this union. She was a devoted member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Rising City. She worked at Henningsen Foods and was a part-time postal worker at the Garrison Post Office. She dedicated most of her time as a homemaker and raising her family.
She is survived by her children: George Remmers of David City; David(Alice)Remmers of Lincoln, John Remmers and Karen McDonald of David City and Stephen(Judy)Remmers of York; Marjorie(Kenneth)Klingemann and Marianne(Karl)Ziethen both of Garrison; and Diane(Stan)Musil of Columbus; two sisters: Frieda Kindler and Mabel Huisenga both of David City; 12 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George in 1959; daughter Holly in 2006; five brothers: Walt, George, Edwin, John and Norman Daro; and two sisters: Florence Clayton and Catherine Homolka
