Erma M. Molacek, 90, of Omaha, formerly of Schuyler, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Omaha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 9th at Divine Mercy Parish (St. Mary's Catholic Church) in Schuyler. Visitation will be Thursday, January 8th from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Svoboda Funeral Home South Chapel, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Visitaton will continue Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. at the South Chapel. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.
Erma was born July 12, 1924 in Schuyler, Nebraska to Stanley and Martha (Dubsky) Schmid. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1942. On September 14, 1948, Erma married James K. Molacek at St. Mary's Church in Schuyler. Erma was a bookkeeper and worked at Reinecke Motors from 1944 to 1949, and later for the Ben Franklin store and Farm Bureau Insurance. She also worked for County Attorney Lloyd Pospishil, Vondracek Oil Company, and the Schuyler State Bank. Erma was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary's Guild, serving as past Secretary/Treasurer, and was past secretary of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a member of the Sokol Gymnastics, was a Girl Scout Leader, belonged to the Happy Czech Singers and enjoyed Czech polkas and waltzes. After moving to Omaha she attended St. Bernards Catholic Church.
Erma is survived by two sons: Ken and wife Vicki, Daviid and wife Donna, daughter: Susan Cutshall and husband Joseph, granddaughters: Julie Molacek, Kristan Cutshall, grandsons: Jason Cutshall and wife Laura, Michael Cutshall, and Derek Molacek; great grandsons, James and Nathan Cutshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James (November 19, 2014), brothers: John Schmid (Missing in Action in the Korean Conflict) and Don Schmid.
