Mass of Christian Burial for Emily Ritzdorf, age 101 of Howells, will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 9, 2016 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM and on Friday starting at 9:30 AM all at the church. Rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Thursday. Burial will be in the S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Emily was born August 16, 1915 in Colfax County to Frank J. and Julie (Kudera) Beran. She received her schooling in a rural Colfax County school. On August 23, 1938 she married Lawrence Ritzdorf and the farmed southeast of Howells until moving to Howells in 1996. Emily enjoyed embroidering, cross stitching, baking, cooking gardening and keeping busy with various craft projects – but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Emily died December 5, 2016 at Parkview Home in Dodge where she had been a resident the past two years.
Emily is survived by their two daughters, Lori Cram of Omaha and Arlene (Gary) Nemec of Howells; granddaughters, Denise Baer, Kelly (Bill) Robbiano and Kathy (Tim) Rahmig; grandsons, Jay (Connie) Nemec and Bill Nemec; great grandchildren: Andrew Rahmig, Jon Rahmig, Tiffany Decker, Nicole Nemec and Owsha Gallagher; great great grandchildren Griffin and Grady Decker, Sydney, Veronica, Scarlett and Maverick Rahmig;
She is preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Lawrence (1/16/2015); grandson, Dallan Kluthe; son-in-law, Phil Cram; brother, Edwin Beran.
