Elsie M. Simodynes. 91, of David City, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 14, 2011, at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church with Fr. Bernard Kimminau officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Viewing will be Monday, from 9-10am at the church with a 9:30 parish rosary also in church.

Elsie M. Simodynes was born on May 2, 1919 on the farm near David City to Joseph and Agnes(Divis)Zima. She graduated from David City High School in 1937.
Elsie taught school at District 23 in 1939. During the 60's she worked in Lincoln for the state legislators while they were in session at the state capitol building.
She was married to Edward Simodynes and one son was born to this union.
She enjoyed quilting, and had a love for nature, especially enjoying the beauty of flowers. She helped run the religious goods store at St. Mary's Church for many years.
Elsie is survived by her daughter-in-law: Carolyn Simodynes of Omaha, one brother: Raymond Zima of David City, one sister: Lucille Pierson of Lincoln, two grandchildren: Dianne Simodynes of California and Joe(Keira O'Connor)Simodynes of Denver, CO. one great-granddaughter: Finley Lillian Simodynes.
Mrs. Simodynes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, her son, Dr. Edward E. Simodynes in 1993, and one brother: Edwin Zima.
