Ella Woita, 96, of David City died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church with Fr. Bernard Kimminau officiating. A funeral lunch will be served at the Knights of Columbus Hall immediately following the Mass and burial will be at 1:00pm in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ulysses, Nebraska.
Viewing will be on Tuesday, from 1-5pm at Chermok Funeral Home and Wednesday, from 9-10am at the church.
A parish rosary will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday in the church.

Ella(Focher)Woita was born on a farm four miles west of Abie to Joseph and Mary(Hajek)Focher on July 21, 1914 and passed away on January 15, 2011, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City at the age of 96 years, 6 months, and 25 days.
Ella attended country school district #39 and graduated from Octavia High School in 1932.
She married William J. Woita of Weston on June 4, 1935 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Abie. They lived and farmed near Weston and in 1940 purchased a farm east and north of Ulysses where they lived until they retired.
Ella moved to David City in August of 1994. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Donald, Doreen and William Jr.
She was a member of Immaculate Concpetion Church in Ulysses until moving to David City and became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She loved the church, family, friends, farming, baking, quilting, Czech music and going to polka dances.
Ella belonged to many organizations which included the PCCW, Butler County Czech Club and the Butler County Senior Center.
Ella is survived by her children and their spouses: Donald and Carolyn(Holesovsky)Woita of Valparaiso, Doreen and Jerome Novacek and William L. and Margaret(Rerucha)Woita both of Dwight. 9 Grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Agnes(Paseka)Focher and Helen(Dolezal)Focher; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lewis and Lorene(Jambor)Woita and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in 1999, an infant grandson, Jeffrey Novacek, a sister, Tillie Eckstein and two brothers: Joseph and Edward Focher.
