Edward L. O'Brien, 87, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at the Chermok Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 2 pm. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral.
Edward was born on April 28, 1922 in Loretto, Nebraska to Irvin J. and Frances (Reed) O'Brien. He married Arlene Carnahan on July 9, 1941 in Barrington, Illinois. He served during World War II as a Tank Commander in France and Germany. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, playing the accordian, dancing and telling stories and talking about the Sandhills.
Edward is survived by grandchildren: Gina (Chris) Limmer of Omaha and Pat (Amy) O'Brien of Omaha; daughter-in-law: Doris O'Brien of Omaha; sisters: Patti O'Brien of Tuscon, AZ and Cheryl (Pete) Coronel of Yuma, AZ; great grandchildren: Jordan and Trevor Limmer, Michael, Ty and Caleb O'Brien; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Michael, brother Jay and step-mother Gladys.
Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Games and Park Commission or the Alzheimers Association.
