Funeral services for 98 year old Edward R. Jindra of Schuyler will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4th at St. Augustines Catholic Church in Schuyler. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday one hour before services at the North Chapel. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in rural Schuyler.
Edward R. Jindra, age 98 of Schuyler, died February 27th at Golden Living Center. Ed was born August 1, 1915 in Linwood, NE to Anton and Anna (Matejka) Jindra. He attended District #3 school in Butler County. He married Louise M. Casey on October 3, 1945 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Schuyler. Ed farmed and did odd jobs for other farmers in the area. Ed loved flowers and gardening. He enjoyed talking, telling stories and visiting with friends. He loved going for rides out in the country with Louise. He also loved eating chicken at Gene’s Restaurant in Schuyler.
Ed is survived by one sister Ann Parolek of Schuyler, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise in 1993 and brothers: Anton H., Frank, James and Joseph Jindra; and sisters: Tillie Bose, Mary Kucera, infant sister Ann Jindra and Rose Knepper.
