Edward J. Foral, 90, of David City died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Omaha.

Edward J. Foral was born on June 26, 1925 to Matthew and Emma(Kris)Foral at Comstock, Nebraska. He graduated from South High School in Omaha in 1943. He entered the US Army in August of 1944 and served as an Infantryman, 1st class machine gunner and sharpshooter. During his tenure, he received the Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal and European Theatre Campaign Medal with two bronze stars. He was honorably discharged in January of 1946.
Ed was a lifelong farmer in the Bellwood, Appleton and David City areas.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church in David City, American Legion Post125/VFW Post 5814 with lifetime status, 40 & 8, the Eagles Club, WFL, and a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus honorary life member. He was a past member of the Legion Honor Guard, Nebraska Czechs of Prague, David City Community Heritage Club, the Heritage Club Singers and Nebraska Country Dancers. He enjoyed country dancing and traveling the country from Canada to Mexico, East Coast to West Coast.
Ed is survived by his wife, Bea Alexander- Foral of David City, one daughter, two brothers: Jim Foral of Ord and Dan Foral of Black Hawk, SD, one sister, Evelyn Yechout of Omaha, mother-in-law: Aggie Svoboda of David City, 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren, 9 step-children: Patrick(Naida)McIntyre of California, Chris(Mary)McIntyre of Ottumwa, IA, David McIntyre of David City, Katie Patzel of Oskaloosa, IA, Tim(Cammy)McIntyre of Texas, Keith(Kim)McIntyre of Hastings, NE, Laura(Mike)Smith of David City, Vickie(Scott)Murphy of Lincoln, and Bobby(Tracy)Alexander of Omaha, 42 step-grandchildren and 57 step-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law: Richard Sabata, grandson, Wayne Sabata granddaughter, Shanna Rurup and one brother, Raymond Foral.
