Edmond J. Semin, 94, of David City, formerly of Dwight, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at David Place in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00am in Immaculate Conception Church, Ulysses with Fr. Raymond Jansen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2-4pm at Chermok Funeral Home and after 6pm at the church followed by a 7pm rosary also at church. Additional viewing will be on Wednesday from 9-10am at the church.
Memorials may be Donor's choice or In care of the family.
Mr. Semin was born on August 3, 1914 to Mike and Hattie(Rerucha)Semin on the farm near Ulysses. He married Lydia Sloup on August 24, 1937 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ulysses. Edmond was a lifelong resident and farmer of Butler County and a member of Immaculate Conception Church. After he retired from farming, he and Lydia moved to their home in David City where they lived until her death in 2003. Edmond moved to David Place shortly after her death.
He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, traveling, Czech Music and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son Alvin(Jan) Semin of Ulysses; Son-in-law: LeRoy Fiala of Seward; Sister: Evelyn Cason of David City; 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Edmond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2003; one daughter MaryAnn Fiala; a grandson-in-law:Dewayne Bohac; one sister and brother-in-law: Eva and Ernest Cink; one brother and sister-in-law: Ernest and Lucille Semin and a brother-in-law: Bob Cason.
