Eber O. Cooper was born April 21, 1941 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Otho and Merlin (Severin) Cooper. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958 and from the University of Nebraska College of Law at Lincoln in May, 1966. Eber married Karen P. Alberts in October 1970. On July 28, 1989 he married Donna K. Kannas at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus.
Eber was a claims adjuster for several insurance companies retiring from Continental Western Insurance when he was 63. He was also a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, the Nebraska Archeological Society, Henry Doorly Zoo, the Fraternal Order of Eagles , the Shriners and served as a seargent in the National Guard. He was a classical guitarist and enjoyed having coffee with his coffee group, fishing, working on cars, home remodeling projects and most of all loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Eber is survived by daughters Susan (Joe) Heavican of Rogers, NE, Leesa (Tim) Richtig of Crete, NE, sons Dan Cooper (fiancée Trinh Le) of San Diego, CA, and John Cooper of Columbus, NE; step-children Rodney Kannas of Clear Lake, SD, Brent Kannas of Fort Carson, CO, Kent Kannas of Watertown, SD, Debby (Max) Siewart of Zumbro Falls, MN, Judy Walford of Watertown, SD and Sally (Scott) Jerabek of Belle Plaine, MN; 8 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters and 1 step-great grandson; sisters Beth (Robert) Hanson of North Platte, NE and Majel (Darrell) Avers of Enfield, Il; and brother Muir (Sheryl) Cooper of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents, and a brother Norlin Cooper.
