Dorothy G. Zegers, 89, of David City, passed away July 30, 2015 at the Butler County Health Care Center.

Dorothy Zegers was born November 20, 1925 to Piet and Minnie(Jacobs) Peters in David City, Nebraska. She graduated from David City High School in 1944, and was united in marriage to Carl Zegers on February 11, 1947.
Dorothy taught at a country school for a few years, and worked as a cook at St. Joseph's Villa for over 40 years until retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was part of the Altar Society. Dorothy enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, and loved to bake and cook. She also enjoyed having company and family over for holidays.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Mike (Leona) Zegers, of Schuyler, Tom (Karen) Zegers, of Lincoln, Judy Polacek, of Omaha, Mark Zegers, of Columbus; siblings: Paul Peters, John (Norma Jean) Peters, Virginia Brockevelt, Nellie Brockeveldt, and Marie (Joe) Kozisek; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Carl; son: Gerald Zegers; son-in-law: Michael Polacek; sister: Christine Kozisek; and brother: Bill Peters.
