Dorothy Dobesh, 78, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2010 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm Wednesday January 12 at Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard. Visitation will continue at 5:30 pm at Holy Trinity Church with a Rosary following at 6:30 pm. at the Church.
Dorothy was born June 27, 1932 in Tobias, Nebraska to Joe and Lydia (Lorenz) Baxa. She married Irvin Dobesh on May 26, 1953 in Tobias and shortly after that moved to the Brainard -David City area. Dorothy worked at the Butler County Health Care Center for 29 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Dorothy was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Holy Trinity PCCW; WFLA and the American Legion Auxillary. She loved to travel, loved outdoor activities, her cats and baking.
Dorothy is survived by a son: Thomas J. (Mary) Dobesh of David City; daughters: Patricia M. (Leo) Meister of David City, Marcella J. (Alan) Svoboda of Bettendorf, IA, and Dorothy L. (Dennis) Young of Omaha; brothers: Leonard (Marvel) Baxa of Tobias, Joe (Eleanor) Baxa, Jr, of Tobias, sister-in-law: Evelyn Doeschot of DuBois, NE; 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Irvin in 1985, infant daughter Carol Ann and infant grandsons: Stephen Alan Svoboda and Louis Thomas Dobesh.
