Dorothy I. Buntgen, age 87 of David City, died Thursday March 22, 2012 at the Butler County Health Care Center.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday March 27, 2012 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in David City with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Interment will follow at David City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 PM on Monday at Chermok Funeral Home, and Tuesday, from 9:30am to 10:30 am at the church.
Memorials have been suggested to the family in her name.
Dorothy was born April 4, 1924 to John and Rose (Masek) Petrik at Platte, South Dakota. She graduated from Platte High School in 1942 and moved to David City in 1944 where she had resided ever since.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Harry "Cap" Buntgen on March 17, 1953 in Lincoln. They had two daughters; JoAnn and Lynne. Dorothy had worked at Loran Jordan Drug Store, Par 4 Cafe as well as Northside Cafe. She was a lifetime memeber of the VFW Auxilliary, DAV Auxilliary, a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women, Rebekah Circle as well as the Congregational Christian Evening Circle. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending meetings and staying busy. She will be greatly missed.
Dorothy is survived by daughters: JoAnn (Gene) Parker of Cozad, NE and Lynne(James) Tsapelas of Boonville, MO and four grandchildren: Robert Brittain, Bill Brittain, Elias Tsapelas and Talia Tsapelas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry in 2004, one sister and two brothers.
