Donna L. Deavers, 81, of David City, passed away Sunday April 3, 2011 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, April 7 at the United Methodist Church in Rising City with Pastor Glenn Hubbard, officating. Visitation wil be Wednesday, April 6 from 5 - 7 pm at Chermok Funeral Home in David City with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Circle Mound Cemetery in Rising City.
Donna was born in Columbus, Ne on May 17, 1929 to Fred and Dorothy (Stevenson) Fyfe. She moved to David City in 1937 and graduated from David City High School in 1946. Donna married Frank Harold Deavers on November 3, 1946 in Columbus.
Donna was a member of the Rising City United Methodist Church, the Daughters of Union Veterans, the Rising City American Legion Auxillary and the Cornhusker Club. She enjoyed reading, working in the garden, bowling and traveling.
Donna is survived by a daughter, Kathleen of David City; son, John of St. Louis, MO; brother Leon (Cindy) Houdesheldt of Columbus; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank in 2007, sons: David and Dennis; brothers Robert and Raymond Houdesheldt; and infant grandson, John Deavers.
The family suggests Memorials to the Rising City United Methodist Church or David City Relay for Life.
