Donald Joseph Veskrna, 80, of David City, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 on his farm due to a tragic tractor accident.
Donald was born on August 17, 1935 at the family farm South of David City, to Louis and Lucy(Hottovy) Veskrna. He graduated from David City High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from 11/17/1955 to 8/16/1957. On May 10, 1958 he was united in marriage to Delores Quick.
Farming, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were Don's passion in life. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, the beautiful outdoors, especially hunting and ice fishing, and drinking a beer. Delores, his wife, was his soulmate and the love of his life.
Donald is survived by his wife: Delores, of David City; daughters: Karen(Rod) Roth, of Lincoln, Kathy(Jerry Adams) Dobesh; wife of the late Kelly Veskrna, Mary Veskrna; grandchildren: Jake Veskrna, Kurt(Breanna McNeill) Veskrna, Hannah Veskrna, Andrew Roth, Michelle(Andrew) Stewart, Janelle(Joe) Cardwell, Julie(Spencer Martin) Dobesh, Jessica(David) Danielson, Jenny(Eugene) Harris, and Rebecca Dobesh; great-grandchildren: Lleyton Stewart, Ashlynn, Jaelynn, Jasper, Cody, and Josie Cardwell, Aaliyah, Sophiyah, and Tyesen Danielson, Jayden, Jeremiah, and Johnny Harris, and Ja'Quavion Dobesh; siblings: Ron(Sharon) Veskrna, Diane(Bill) Payne, and Louis Veskrna.
He is preceded in death by his son: Kelly Veskrna, of David City; parents: Louis and Lucy Veskrna; grandson: Louis Dobesh; and siblings: Leo, Alfred, and Phyllis.
