Born on August 18, 1931, to Alois John Heimann and Marie Ann (Bayer) Heimann in the St. Henry's Community just north of Howells, Delma Jean lived a life dedicated to her family, community, and faith.

Delma married Leander George Brester, an Army veteran, on August 27, 1953 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells. Delma and Leander built a full life in Howells and welcomed seven wonderful children. They took pride in being a part of their community and made several cherished friends throughout their life.

She worked at Howells Public School as a Study Hall Supervisor, where she impacted the lives of many students with her gentle guidance and support. After retiring, Delma continued to serve her community by working part-time at the Howells Library.

A devout member of Saint Peter & Paul Christian Mothers and the Women's Legion Auxiliary, Delma was deeply involved in her church and community. Her talents extended to crafting, where she made baby quilts and generously donated them to the Children's Hospital in Omaha and the Howells Catholic School Fundraiser.

Delma's family was the center of her world. She is survived by her children: Dave (Martha) Brester of Omaha; Tom Brester of Long Island, KS; Mary (Rick) McKern of Niceville, FL; Ann (Joe) Ruzek of Dodge; Pat (Kathy) Brester of Howells; Laurie Kaiser (Jeff Hart) of Lincoln; and Lee Brester of Mesa, AZ. She was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Mel Heimann of Columbus and her sister Arlene Langhorst of West Point.

Delma is preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Marie Heimann; her beloved husband, Leander; her grandson, Jay Thomas McKern; her brother, Kenneth Heimann; and her sister, Ardyce Luxa.
