Darlene Krenk, 76, of Linwood, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 7, 2008 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Abie. Interment will be in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, from 1 -5 pm at the Chermok Funeral Home in David City, and after 6 pm at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. A Rosary will follow at 7 pm at the Church. Visitation will continue one hour before the funeral on Friday, at the Church.
Darlene was born to Theodore "Ted" and Albina (Brtek) Sedlacek, on July 8, 1932 on a farm southeast of Bruno. She attended District 28 country school and graduated from Brainard High School in 1950. She taught for 5 years until her marriage to Clarence Krenk on June 14, 1956 at St. Anthony's in Bruno. All of her married life was lived at farms in the Abie area. She liked gardening and flowers. She enjoyed going to casinos and playing bingo. She volunteered at Aquinas High School and was principal of the Abie CCD program for 15 years. She was a member of the Altar Society and sang in the choir.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Clarence of Linwood; sons David (Nancy) of Lafayette, IN, Galen (Renae) of David City; daughter, Carol (Brian) Schoenhofer of Spring Hill, KS; sister, Nadine Rerucha of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Lucille Swanson; grandchildren, Christian, Kevin, Corbin, Zach, Micah, Simon, and Darian Krenk, and Ashley and Trevor Schoenhofer; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Ben Rerucha.
