Darlene M. Behne, 72, of Brainard, widow of Norman, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her residence near Brainard.

Darlene was born on June 22, 1943 at West Point, Nebraska to Hans W. and Minnie(Hollman)Dieck. She attended country schools in the area and graduated from Howells High School in 1961. On June 27, 1964, she married Norman H. Behne at Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City. Two sons were born to this union.
Darlene was a homemaker, farm wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her animals and always had cats and dogs around her on the farm.
She is survived by her sons: Nicholas Behne of Brainard, and Douglas(Andrea)Behne of Smithville, MO. Three grandchildren: Owen, Brianne and Corinne Behne.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman in 2007 and one sister, Doris Friesz.
