Clarence Lehr Glock, 96, of Rising City, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2016 at david place in David City.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church, Nebraska Lutheran High School, or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Clarence Lehr Glock was born on October 11, 1919 on the family farm near Millerton, NE to Miller and Jessie (Lehr) Glock. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Rising City. Clarence graduated from Rising City High School in 1936. On October 10, 1944 Clarence enlisted in the United States Army and served in the European Theater until May 6, 1946 when he received an Honorable Discharge as Staff Sergeant.
Clarence and Iris Dechert were united in marriage on August 28, 1947. Two sons were born to this union. With the exception of his military service, Clarence spent his entire life in the Rising City area. Clarence was a farmer, carpenter (Fred Osborn Construction) and Rising City Postmaster from 1970–1990. Clarence enjoyed Nebraska life including being a teammate on his high school basketball team that played in the state tournament, following UNL sports teams, and high school activities, especially those in which his grandchildren participated.
Survivors include sons Richard (Brenda) of Sutter Creek, CA and Ralph (Vickie) Springfield, NE; seven grandchildren: Troy (Stacy) Glock, Jason (Patricia) Glock, Ryan (Rachel) Glock, Anne (Lee) Reimer, Sarah (Randy) Spellbrink, Travis (Madison) Glock, Alex Glock; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Genevieve Sinclair of Rancho Cordova, CA and Naomi Fricke of Rising City, NE; cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers-in-law Kenneth Sinclair and Wilbur Fricke.
