Clarabelle Kilgore, 94, of David City passed away on February 10, 2014 at St. Joseph's Villa.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10:30am at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4-6pm at Chermok Funeral Home and will resume one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Private Burial at a later time. Lunch will follow immediately after the funeral service in the church basement.

Clarabelle Kilgore was born May 20, 1919 to Claud and Tillie(Curry) Raitt near Rising City. She grew up near Rising City and graduated from Rising City High School in 1937.
Clarabelle married Myron Kilgore on September 5, 1940 in Grand Island, Nebraska. They farmed together for 41 years near David City. They retired from farming in 1981 and built a new house in David City. After retirement, they did extensive traveling. They visited every state in the union except for Florida, and had season tickets to the Nebraska Huskers football games for 35 years.
She was a long time member of the Helping Hand Club. They send boxes of cookies to the service men from the area in World War II. Clarabelle was a life time member of the United Methodist Women's Society, was chairman of the Kitchen Committee for 35 years, and taught Sunday School for 10 years. She was also a member of the DAR for over 60 years, and served two terms as president.
Clarabelle is survived by children: Terry (Beverley) Kilgore of Green Bay, WI, and Linda (Jack) Clark of Norco, CA; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother: Dick (Fairy) Raitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Myron in 2013; brother: Dean Raitt; and sister: Irene Kelly.
