Clair Siroky, 79, of Abie, passed away January 24, 2016 at david place, in David City.
Clair Siroky was born on September 8, 1936 to Emanuel and Minnie(Otoupal)Siroky on the family farm in Saunders County. He attended local schools and graduated from David City High School in 1955. He married Janice Kucera on June 26, 1962 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Abie, Nebraska. Three children were born to this union.
Clair was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Parish and served on the Parish Council and Knights of Columbus. He served on the village board since 1980 and has been the Mayor of Abie since 1992. He was part of the Abie VFD since 1968, managed the Abie Auditorium for 9 years and served on the Aquinas School Council. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, polka music, going to casinos and always had time to stop and chat. Clair made friends wherever he went.
Clair is survived by his wife: Janice; children: Scott Siroky, Michael(Pam) Siroky both of David City, and Sandy(Brian) Henry of Albion; 10 grandchildren: Cassandra, Kaitlyn, Spencer Siroky, Mitch Bartunek, Trevor, and Jadyn Siroky, Hunter, Keaton, Carter, and Serena Henry; brother: Eugene(Sally) Siroky; and sister-in-law: Pat Karpisek, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law: Ernie(Millie) Kucera; 2 brothers-in-law: Gary Kouma and Richard Karpisek.
