Cheryl Woita, 63, of Seward, died Tuesday, April 9 at Kinshipe Point in Seward.

A private family burial will be held at the David City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and statues, memorials may be directed to in care of the family and can be mailed to Chermok Funeral Home, 515 C Street, David City, NE 68632

Cheryl Woita was born on October 18, 1960, to Eldon and Barbara Kastl. Cheryl grew up on the family farm in rural Bruno, Nebraska. Cheryl attended East Butler Public until she was united in marriage to Mike Woita in December 1978. Two children were born to this union: Brandy Woita on February 7, 1979, and Bret Woita December 14,1982. The couple later divorced in June 1987.

Cheryl moved from the family farm to a small home in Dwight, Nebraska and worked for David City Manufacturing in David City, Nebraska until the plant closed in 2019. She then took a dietary position at David Place in David City, Nebraska until her diagnosis in April 2023. Upon her diagnosis she was forced to focus on her health and retire from work. Cheryl passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024, among family.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her Grandparents, and parents Eldon and Barbara Kastl.

Cheryl leaves behind three sisters: Deb (Ron) Robotham, Joanne Kastl-Parker, and Sue (JC) Givens. Also, there are two children, Brandy Woita and Bret (Siann) Woita, as well as five grandchildren, and Aunt Doris Stoll, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a luncheon Friday, April 12th starting at 11:30 at Sunshine Court in David City. Please join the family for memories, coffee, and lunch. Please bring a salad or dessert to the luncheon if you would be willing to bless the family in this way.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to be designated at a later date.
