Carol A. Holmes, 78, of Columbus died Friday, February 8, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln.
Per Carol's request, she will be cremated with no viewing or visitation.
A private family burial will take place at a later time.

Carol was born on August 21, 1940 at Utica, Nebraska to Theodore and Jennie (Heitman) Junge. She was a graduate of Rising City High School. Carol was a teller at the Rising City Bank, later Union Bank, for over 25 years. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rising City and was very active in the church.
Carol enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling, attending the grandchildren's sporting events, taking bus trips, traveling, gardening and flowers. She married Larry Holmes on Feb. 11, 1984 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Rising City.
Carol is survived by her husband, Larry of Columbus, Sons: David M. Gatlin of Lincoln, and Darren (Sherry) Gatlin of Gretna, two step-daughters: Susan Nienhueser and Andrea Holmes, one sister, Delores Jennings of Cupertino, CA, 5 Grandchildren: Matthew Richardson, David L. Gatlin, Thomas D. Gatlin, Zachery D. Gatlin and Alanna Opfer, one great-grandson: Mason Opfer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Mildred Martens, and one infant brother.
