Funeral service for 79 year old Carol J. Cech of Howells will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 12th at the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be in the Schuyler cemetery at 2 PM on Saturday.
Carol was born in Clarkson to Joseph and Marie (Koci) Makousky. She attended Clarkson public schools and graduated in 1952. Carol and Robert P. Cech were married October 6, 1957 at New Zion Presbyterian Church. Carol was employed as a dietary cook at Colonial Manor in Clarkson for about 25 years. She also was the bookkeeper for Farmers Union Co-op in Clarkson and as the custodian for the Howells Post Office. Carol died April 8, 2014 at Mory's Haven care facility in Columbus where she been a resident for the past three years.
Carol is survived by three children; Jeanne (Terry) Scheuneman of Schuyler, Don Cech of Howells and Linda Cech and her fiancé, Ron Schlickbernd of Dodge; one granddaughter, Heidi Scheuneman and her fiancé Rob Schimonitz of Omaha; one great granddaughter, Brynn Schimonitz; one brother, Joseph Richard Makousky of Ponca.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Cech (12/6/2005); one brother, Richard Joseph Makousky.
Family suggest memorial to New Zion Presbyterian Church.
Funeral lunch will be served immediately after the funeral service.
