Carol J. Berglund, 77, of Lincoln, formerly of David City, passed away January 14, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 22 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Visitation will be from 12 until 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Chermok Funeral Home is assisting Carol's family with arrangements.
Carol Jean Berglund was born to Allen and Mildred (Zeleny) Berglund on December 23, 1946.
She was the third of 8 children born to this unity and was the eldest daughter. Carol grew up on a farm near Marietta, where she attended both Marietta and Aquinas schools and graduated in 1965. She began her nursing career in 1978 until 1984 with the Army National Guard where she received her LPN license. She extended her service with the Army reserve until 1997. She continued her LPN nursing career until her retirement.
Carol was a force to be reckoned with and one that loved deeply. Her quick wit, honest opinion, unabashed attitude, and caring spirit was pronounced throughout her life. Carol was good humored and loved her family and friends deeply.
Never married, she spent much time with her family and was an amazing companion and caregiver to her parents in their later years.
She leaves behind her loving siblings: Burt (Sandy) Berglund of Omaha, Roger Berglund of Washougal, Washington, Dee (Chris) Kosch of Reno, Nevada, Cathy Greguras of Seward, Barb (Tom) Tomek of Greenville, South Carolina, Sharry (Mike) Arneson of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews and friends who all will dearly miss her.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dan, and brother-in-law, Ed Greguras.
