Blanche was born June 17, 1911 south of Dodge to Henry and Frances (Vrbicky) Diesterhaupt. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Dodge. On October 7, 1930 she married Frank R. Bazata at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge and they lived on a farm north of Howells until they retired in 1957. Blanche then worked at the grocery store in Howells for many years. She has been a member of St. John's Catholic Church since 1930. She was an active member of the Altar Society and the Guild and served as co-chairman of the funeral circle for many years. Blanche loved to play cards and Bingo. She died March 31, 2011, at the age of 99, at the Golden Living Center in Clarkson where she had been a resident since May 2008. Blanche is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine (Bob) Malena of Clarkson; daughters-in-law, Agnes Bazata of Howells and Marge Bazata of Fremont; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank (12/6/1999); twin sons, Delvan Bazata (3/23/1996) and Melvan Bazata (3/10/1997); granddaughter, Beth Malina (May of 1994); sister Marie Pavel; brother, Henry Diesterhaupt. Funeral lunch will be served at St. John's Catholic School Aditorium.
