Billie Jean Nichols-Hathaway

Billie Jean Nichols-Hathaway, 87, of Clarkson, formerly of Wisner, passed away March 25, 2018 at Clarkson Community Care Center.

Billie was born August 2, 1930 to Edward and Marge(Johnk) Hashberger in Schuyler, Nebraska. She graduated from Schuyler High School then began working for the United States Post Office in 1977 and retired in 1991. Billie enjoyed crosswords, games, puzzles, and drawing. She especially loved swing dancing on the weekends. Billie also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Charles A.(Tina) Petzel, of Wisner, Patrick Nichols, of Madison, Will(Kandi) Nichols, of Norfolk, and Anita Matheny, of Ft. Dodge, IA; sisters: Dorothy Oltmer, of David City, Patricia Miranda, of California; 22 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Willis Nichols and Charles E. Petzel; daughters Jolene Lowry, Michelle McDermot, Luanna Weed; brothers: Ronald J. Hashberger, Richard Hashberger; granddaughter: Kimbra and grandson Jacob Loftus.
