Betty Payzant

Betty June Payzant, 95, of Hooper, formerly of Schuyler, died Tuesday September 19, 2017 at Hooper Care Center in Hooper, NE.
Memorials can be made in care of family.
Betty was born June 29, 1922 on the family farm near Schuyler, NE to Thad and Elizabeth (Pedersen) Payzant. She was baptized as an infant at the Christ United Methodist Church at Schuyler, NE where she was a lifetime member. She attended District 43 rural elementary school and also Schuyler High School.
She worked caring for others as a nurses aide at St. Mary's Hospital, Schuyler Hospital, and Methodist Hospital. Betty also care for her parents for 17 years after they were injured in a car accident, and also did childcare for numerous families.
She resided the last 9 years at Hooper Care Center where she enjoyed a variety of activities, trivia and spelling bees were her favorite. She was also an avid reader, loved old movies, and the Cornhuskers.
She was also known as "Special Aunt Betty" (Betts) to her numerous nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her brother Ronald (Norma) Payzant of Fremont, cousins, and "special" nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant sister Helen Mae.
