Betty L. Jackson, 71, of Rising City died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at David Place in David City, Nebraska.
Memorial Services will be Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3:30pm in the First English Lutheran Church of Rising City with Ron Lau, PAU officiating. Private family burial of ashes.
At Betty's wish, she was cremated and there will be no visitation or viewing.
Memorials may be given In Care of the Family.
Betty L. Jackson was born on February 1, 1939 on the family farm in Sargent County, North Dakota to Clyde and Thelma(Olson)Jones. She was baptized on March 15, 1939 at the family farm.
Betty attended school in Rising City, Nebraska. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church on March 29, 1953.
She married Joy L. Decker on February 28, 1956 in Holbrook, Nebraska. They later moved to Manhattan, Kansas. Four children were born to this union.
Betty's second marriage was to Tony L. Jackson.
She was a homemaker and a waitress for many years in the Manhattan, Lincoln and Seward areas. Like her dad, she loved people and was a friend to everyone. She loved the outdoors, fishing, a good book and crafting with jewelry. She made Christmas trees and pictures with jewelry and was a collector of many things.
Betty is survived by her mother, Thelma Jones of Rising City, special friend, Tony Jackson; Sons: Duane "Buck"(Jean)Jones of Neligh; Barry(Debbie)Decker and John Decker both of Lansing, MI; Daughters: Patrice(Jim)Balmer of Dansville, MI; Angela(Doug)Knauf of DeWitt, MI; Grandchildren: Cassie Jones and fiance Joe Tillis; Carly Ederington; Colin Jones and Chelsea Lonsdale;Amber(B.J.)Rodriguez; Levi Decker; Naomi(Steve)Simpson; Nicholas, Nathan, Natalie, and Nolan Knauf; Great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Edgerington; Savannah and Dominic Rodriguez; Julian and Ryan Simpson.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Clyde in 1997, first husband, Joy Decker in 2003, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
