Arlene G. Fricke, 91, of David City, passed away January 3, 2019 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Memorials have been suggested to Presentation Parish, Masses or to Aquinas Guardian Angel Fund.
Arlene was born January 14, 1927 to Adolph and Emma(Hamsa) Novacek near Linwood, Nebraska. She graduated from high school, then got her teaching certificate from Concordia College. On January 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Benjamin E. Fricke at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler.
Arlene was a member of Presentation Parish, the Little Flower Altar Society, 4-H, and the Catholic Daughter's. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and wearing her angel brooches. Arlene loved to help the church in any way that she could, and she spent many years volunteering at Aquinas Catholic School.
She is survived by her children: JoAnn(John) Messing, of Shelby, Teresa Fricke, of Pleasant Valley, MO, Marcia(Larry) Dittfurth, College Station, TX, Dan(Darcee) Fricke, of Lincoln, Mary(Matt) Parker, of Harrison, NE and son-in-law: Ben Syring, of David City; brothers: Adolph(Joan) Novacek and Marland(Phyllis) Novacek; sister-in-law: Catherine Novacek; 24 grandchidlren; 28 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Benjamin in May 2018; daughter: Jean Syring; brother: Elmer Novacek; and great-grandchildren: Stephanie Syring and Calvin Sundberg.
