Arlene Andel, 80, of David City, passed away July 27, 2018 at the Butler County Health Care Center with her family at her side.

Arlene was born November 15, 1937 on a farm near Brainard to Joseph and Albina(Rolenc) Kozisek. She went to grade school at Holy Trinity in Brainard and graduated high school from Dwight Assumption in 1956. On May 29, 1965 she was united in marriage to Miles Andel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. 4 children were born to this union.
She enjoyed trying new recipes for cooking and baking. Arlene baked and decorated cakes for several graduations and weddings. She also liked reading, gardening, raising chickens, embroidery, and watching birds. Arlene was a member of the Butler County Czech Singers and Club, the Assumption Appleton PCCW, the church choir, and she volunteered at the Aquinas Library. She kept herself busy and spent 20 years as a housekeeper for the Fiesta Hotel.
Arlene is survived by her children: Karen(Michael) Ostry, of Bruno, Candace Schaefer, of Columbus, Carmen(Chad) Podolak, of Columbus, and Kevin(Michelle) Andel, of Bruno; sister-in-law: Betty Meysenburg, of Bellwood; 18 grandchildren: Matthew Ostry, Louis Ostry, Cecilia(Jared) Dressman, Angelica(Clayton) Callens, Maria Ostry, Helena Ostry, Anthony Ostry, Gerard Ostry, Lydia Ostry, Gabriella Ostry, Carl Ostry, Trenton Schaefer, Brooke Polodak, Collin Polodak, Jaelyn Polodak, Dylan Andel, Clarice Andel and Kaylee Andel; 4 great-grandchildren: Joachim and Mariam Dressman, Rowland and Ambrose Callens.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Miles Andel in 2013; infant brother: Arnost Kozisek and great-grandchild: Anna Maria Dressman.
