Anthony was born July 20, 1986 in Schuyler to Leonard and Loretta (Vrana) Palensky, Jr. He attended school in Prague and graduated from Prague High School in 2005. He was currently employed at Timpte Manufacturing in David City. Anthony moved in with his grandfather, after his grandmother died, to help him. Monkey John, as he was known to his family, loved to watch movies, play Texas Hold'em, shoot pool, hangout with his buddies and play video games and collect Pokemon games. Anthony died March 8, 2012, at the age of 25, trying to save his grandpa from a house fire. Anthony is survived by his parents, Leonard "Tom" and Loretta Palensky, Jr; siblings, Rachel (Eric) Johnson of David City, Christina (Kasey) Kadavy of Prague, Carla Palensky of Lincoln, Leonard (Shelbi) Palensky, III of Geneva, Christopher (Lindsey) Palensky of David City, William Palensky of Lincoln, Nathan (Christy) Palensky of David City; 13 nieces and nephews; God Children, Alayna Johnson and Ashton Renee Hjort. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Goldie Palensky, William and Margaret Vrana; sister, Renee Palensky. Funeral lunch will be served at the Knights of Columbus Hall in David City following the committal service at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Cedar Hill, rural Prague.
