Anna Marie Coufal

Anna Marie was born May 6, 1916 in Schuyler to August and Anna (Mayer) Koudele. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1934. She married Eldred Coufal November 17, 1936 and they were life long residents. Anna Marie had been active in the Columbus Area Art Club, Mother Cabrina Study Club, Firemen's Auxiliary, Civic Club and St. Augustine's Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, playing bridge, playing the piano and singing, knitting, baking, and as a young girl she was active in gymnastics in the SOKOL Lodge. Anna Marie died December 24th at the Golden LivingCenter in Schuyler at the age of 94. Anna Marie is survived by their six children; Ann (Dick) Crawford of Bethany Beach, DE, Robert (Judy) Coufal of Calabash, NC, Patricia Cox of Loveland, CO, William (Kathy) Coufal of Wichita, KS, Mary (Dwayne) Welch of Loveland, CO and Teresa (George) Kretz of Schuyler; fourteen grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ella Koudele of Tekamah and Pat Vrzak of Wichita, KS. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldred (June 5, 2004); son-in-law, William Cox; brothers, Ed, Gus and Charles Koudele; sisters, Irene Janda and Sylvia Kucera. Family suggest memorial to Divine Mercy Parish or Benedictine Mission Home in lieu of flowers. Funeral lunch will be served at the St. Augustine's Parish Hall.
