Anna J. Rerucha, 89, of David City, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, January 22 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Bruno. Visitation will be from 3-5pm on Monday at Chermok Funeral Home and after 6pm at St. Mary's Church followed by 7PM PCCW Rosary also at the church. Refreshements will be served immediately following the rosary at St. Mary's Hall.
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Church Endowment Fund or Aquinas Endowment Fund.
Anna was born on April 11, 1918 to Adolph and Antonia(Svoboda)Samek at Appleton, Nebraska. She graduated from Octavia High School in 1936 and attended two years college. She taught school in the Appleton area for several years. She married John J. Rerucha on Sept. 14, 1946 at Assumption Church, Appleton. They lived and farmed in the Abie area until moving to David City in 1985. Anna was a member of St. Mary's Church, PCCW; past member of the Legion Auxiliary. She loved to garden, raise flowers and houseplants. She enjoyd polka music, dancing and traveling.
She is survived by her husband John, two brothers: Anton(Rose) Samek and Fred Samek both of David City. Sisters-in-law: Dolores Roh of Schuyler and Veronica Rerucha of Bruno along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Bill Samek; two sisters: Rose Kozisek and Martha Piitz.
