Angela Walla

January 26, 1926 — October 6, 2019

Angela Walla, 93, formerly of Linwood passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Brighton Gardens in Omaha surrounded by her children.

Memorials can be directed towards Family Wishes.

Angela's wishes were to have a private family burial.

Angela Walla was born on January 26, 1926 in Abie, Nebraska to James and Albina (Sobotka) Stuchl. After attending high school, she went on to Midland College and received her teaching certificate. Angela married Emil Walla Jr. on August 14, 1947 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Abie. After the couple married, they settled and farmed in the Linwood area. Angela taught in the area for over 45 years, teaching in Linwood, Abie, Nimburg, and District 10.

In addition to being a full-time teacher Angela found time to help Emil on the farm with the crops and animals, and even enjoyed raising a garden of her own. Angela loved traveling throughout the United States, and researching everywhere they were headed so she could educate everyone on their destination’s history. In her spare time, she loved completing word games and puzzles, feeding her neighborhood cardinals, and cheering on the Husker’s come gameday. Angela was never timid to meet new people, and even though they may start out as strangers they were never strangers for long.

She is survived by her children: E.J. (Karen) Walla of Omaha and Gail Devine of Lincoln; grandchildren: Amy Devine and Sara (Nick) Kutovy; great-grandchilren: Jake and Alexis Kutovy and sister Marcella Raymond.

Angela is preceded in death by her parents, husband Emil in 2009, and two sisters: Mildred Kucera and Marie Virgl.
