Angela T. Helman, 86, of Bee, NE, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday, November 19th at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 pm Wednesday at Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard, from 6 - 7 pm at the Church, followed by a 7pm Rosary at the church. Visitation will continue on Thurday 1 hour before services at the Church. Burial will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Brainard.
Angela was born August 23, 1923, the youngest daughter, to Jerry J. and Anna (Podany) Lodl on a farm north of Clarkson, NE. She graduated from Howells High School in 1943 and attended C.E. School of Commerce in Omaha where she prepared for her railroad career, studying morse code telegraphy, train orders and office work. After graduating, Angela worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Wyoming and Nebraska Divisions for 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, music, traveling, flowers, reading and time with family and friends, and attending senior citizens meetings. Angela was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and PCCW in Brainard, Nebraska.
Angela married Frank B. Helman on September 9, 1952 at St. John's Catholic Church in Howells, Nebraska. Frank was a World War II Veteran, farmer and worked at D & L in Columbus for 15 years. Frank passed away on October 17, 1995.
Angela is survived by a brother, Jerry J. (Ramona) Lodl of Ventura, CA; sister, Anne Sedlak of Bee,NE; brothers and sisters-in-law: Rita & Joe Helman, Fred & Lucille Helman, and Annette Helman, and nieces and nephews. Angela is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank and a sister, Adella Yonda.
