Alice M. Staggs, 83, of David City, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral Services will be Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10:00am at Chermok Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in Edholm Valley Cemetery, rural Octavia. Viewing will be Sunday, from 4-7pm at Chermok Funeral Home.
Alice Marie Staggs was born on April 1, 1926 at Bellwood, Nebraska to Charles and Hattie(Vandermuelen)Hill. She grew up in the area and eventually married Eulis Staggs on March 22, 1944 at Hastings, Nebraska. She was a homemaker, wife and mother.
She enjoyed birdwatching, movies on TV, talking on the phone to friends and family, having picnics, taking car rides, and baking, gardening in her younger years. She enjoyed playing dominoes as well as working jig saw puzzles and crossword puzzles.
Alice is survived by her sons: Richard and David both of David City; Daughters: Evalena(Vern)Fox of Valley Falls, KS; Cindy Wolfe and Dan Harris of Columbus and Linda(Duane)Cech of Schuyler; one sister: Mabel Fisher of Yakima, WA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eulis in 2006; two daughters: Marilyn Staggs and Alice Marie Roberts; two brothers, two sisters; one daughter-in-law: Janet Staggs, and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in care of the family.
