Alice M. Dietrich

Alice M. Dietrich, 94, of Schuyler, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 in David City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14th at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler with Rev. Neal Allen officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13th from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel. Visitation will continue Wednesday one hour before services at the Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.

Alice was born October 19, 1920 in Creston, Nebraska to Calvin and Mattie (Pilling) Gertsch. She attended District 8 School in Colfax County. On August 31, 1940. Alice married Ladislav Dietrich. She enjoyed embroidering, playing Bingo, cards, working puzzles, gardening and babysitting the grandkids and great grandkids.

Alice is survived by 7 sons: Lad (Carol) Dietrich, Jr. of Marysville, OH, Calvin (Carolyn) Dietrich of Leigh, NE, Richard Dietrich of David City, NE, Leroy Dietrich of Schuyler, Rolland Dietrich of Schuyler, Robert Dietrich of Tecumseh, Myron (Sarah) Dietrich of David City; 4 daughters: Mary (Emil) Janousek of Bee, NE, Virginia (Robert) Dunker of Schuyler, NE, Susan Wallingford of Schuyler, NE, Karen (Danny) Blum of Schuyler, NE, 2 brothers: Marian Gertsch of North Platte, NE, Russell (Norma) Gertsch of Park Ridge, IL, 1 sister: Vera (Kenneth) Weller of Central City, NE, 30 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lad in 1989, daughter, Janet Robertson, granddaughter Courtney Dunker, great grandson Eddison Wallingford, and great granddaughter Lauran Pekarek.
