Albin Sindelar, 69, of Howells passed away Friday, August 24, at his home.

Albin was born on September 24, 1948 in West Point, Nebraska to Albin J. and Alice (Dvorak) Sindelar. He attended District 41 Kindergarten, St. John’s Nepomucene Elementary School and graduated from Howells High School in 1966.
He served in the National Guard from 1967-1973. In 1968, Albin married his high school sweetheart, Anna Mae Brester at St. Henry’s Church, rural Howells, Nebraska. Six children were born to this union.
Albin farmed, milked cows and raised hogs for a living. In 2013, they left the farm and moved into Howells, where he lived until his passing.
He was very active in St John’s Church, serving as a parish council member and as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He was also a past member of the Howells School Board. He was a member of the Howells Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. They always brought a smile to his face.
Albin is survived by his wife, Anna Mae of Howells, children: Doug (Cammie) Sindelar of Waverly NE, Dennis (Kymberly) Sindelar of Rocklin, CA, Don (Amanda) Sindelar of Atkinson, NE, Deb (John) Gustafson of Omaha, NE, Deanne (Jed) Erickson of York NE, and Dustin (Tara) Sindelar of Howells, NE. 17 Grandchildren, 3 Great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Angela (Roger) Powell of Grand Island, NE, Adeline (Ken) Hanel of West Point, NE, and Ann (Eugene) Brester of Howells, NE, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law: George and Catherine Brester
